HCAS Library

The Central library of HCAS was established in the year 1995. The total area of the library building is about 4495 sq ft. The college takes pride in a well stocked library enriched with numerous textbooks and reference books. The library brings forth knowledge based services like reference, N-LIST, Internet browsing and E-services. The Central library is automated using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Library Management System (LMS) to carry out its routine operations and is secured with CCTV. Library staff assists the faculty and students in fulfilling the thirst of the users' academic quests. National and international journals have been subscribed to enrich the staff and students research activities.

Reprography facility available in the library can be availed by paying Rs.1.00/- for a copy

Compliance

General Instructions:

1Readers should observe strict silence in the library.
2Mobile phones or any other personal electronic gadgets must be switched to silent mode before entering the library.
3Bags and personal belongings should be left at the assigned counter.
4Users must sign the entry-exit register available at the entrance.
5A student has to produce the ID at the time of the transaction.
6Students can borrow 3 books for their reference for a duration of 14 days.
7Reference resources (Reference books/Magazines/Journals and Newspapers) will not be issued.
8Users can have a maximum of two renewals.
9The readers are asked to check the condition of books at the time of borrowing, in case the books are found damaged, mutilated or spoilt while returning, the reader has to replace the same as a new book.
10Users should not reshelf the book; instead, leave the same at the library counter.
11Loss of borrowed book has to be reported immediately to the librarian.
12A borrowed book, if recalled by the librarian has to be returned immediately.
13Maintain a queue at the circulation counter for faster service.
14Overdue fine will be collected till the book is replaced or returned at Rs.1.00/- per day.
15Students are advised not to keep their mobile phone, purse/wallet or any valuable items in the property counter, as a matter of fact library is not responsible for any kind of loss.
16Handle the library materials with utmost care. In case of marking, underlining, scribbling, clipping of books or damage of any kind of library resources is absolutely forbidden. The borrower shall remain responsible for the damaged material.
17Users must follow the dress code of the college while visiting the library.
18Switch off fans and lights when it is not required
19The library is pleased to accept donation of manuscripts and book materials
